Booking Agency Trips
MUM INC. is excited to announce that we have begun booking trips for outstanding outfitters across the world. It has been said that to remain prosperous, one must be willing to change. MUM is looking at redirecting some of our energies toward a new endeavor. We will always see ourselves as biologists and outfitters, but we are taking the first steps at becoming a high-end hunt booking agency. Many people already see us in that light since we offer multiple trips for divergent species, but these ranches have all been under our management.
We think we are entering into the booking business with a fresh approach. In this new venture, we will only cooperate with outfitters who have operations and ethics that parallel our own high standards. Many outfitters, us included, believe that they are best served by doing their own promotion and bookings. We are seeing, though, a trend in the business where some outfitters are looking at their operation and are not seeing any real financial advantage in spending all the time and money in going to all the sport shows and doing print and web advertising.
We think MUM has an excellent system to benefit you the client as well as the outfitter. The most obvious advantage we possess is that we are outfitters ourselves so we know the business intimately. This practical knowledge is invaluable to the booking agent, and often absent with the average booking agency.
Another difference will be our openness about whom we are booking for. We are going to highlight our hunting partners in our brochures and on our website. How can you make informed decisions while looking through a booking brochure if you don’t know who you will be hunting with? We will be proud of the outfits that are our partners.
We are also planning on only working with a select number of partners. We don’t believe the “Big Box” or supermarket approach is appropriate when we are talking about your hard-earned vacation experience. We’re not going to work with 10 different elk outfitters in Montana. We plan on working with one partner for each species until they are fully booked. Only then would we look at finding another outfit for that particular species. This should alleviate any potential conflict or bias.
